A point of accuracy first: Semax is a synthetic peptide — specifically a heptapeptide made from seven amino acids.
Its sequence is Met–Glu–His–Phe–Pro–Gly–Pro, commonly written as MEHFPGP. The first four residues correspond to the ACTH(4–7) fragment, followed by a Pro–Gly–Pro sequence. Semax should not, however, be described as ACTH itself.
Supplied as lyophilised Semax at a 10mg nominal fill.

Storage and handling
Store sealed at −20°C for long-term stability, protected from light and moisture. Before opening, allow the vial to equilibrate fully to ambient temperature to reduce condensation and moisture uptake. Reseal promptly and avoid repeated temperature cycling.
Semax contains a methionine residue, which can be susceptible to oxidation. Avoid unnecessary exposure to air and strongly oxidising conditions during laboratory handling. Peptide content, residual water and counterion content should be considered alongside the purity result when preparing quantitative work.

FAQ
What is Semax?
Semax is a synthetic peptide consisting of seven amino acids with the sequence Met–Glu–His–Phe–Pro–Gly–Pro.
What does ACTH(4–7)-Pro-Gly-Pro mean?
It describes the structure of Semax. The first four amino acids correspond to positions 4–7 of ACTH, followed by the three-amino-acid sequence Pro–Gly–Pro.
Is Semax the same as ACTH?
No. Semax contains a short ACTH-related sequence but is a separate synthetic heptapeptide with a different overall structure.
What is the CAS number for Semax?
80714-61-0 for the free peptide. Salt forms may be recorded separately, so always check the COA.
What is its molecular weight?
813.93 g/mol for the free peptide. Counterions and residual water may affect the mass of the supplied material.
Is Semax supplied for human use?
No. It is supplied strictly for laboratory research use only and is not for human consumption, medical, veterinary or cosmetic use.
